Magic Rabbit in a Top Hat

Rabbit in a Magician's Top hat! Jack turned 5 this week and here is the cake from his birthday party.

Mickey Mouse Cupcakes

I made these for Jack's class on Friday to begin his birthday celebration! He definitely loves anything Mickey Mouse and these were no exception. His class gobbled them all right up! The ears and party hats were made of fondant and the stars are large primary colored sprinkles found at my local craft store.

Dora and Boots Cake

I love this cake. I found the Dora and Boots figurine at the store. I covered the cake as usual with one color and then cut small strips from a lot of different colors of fondant that I mixed. I'm not one for repetition so I didn't do the same colors in the same pattern or at the same widths apart. I then took some strips and wrapped them around some wooden chopsticks and let dry. I also made loops around twisted paper towels for the bow. Then I attached all of the pieces to the cake using corn syrup. Next, I cut out stars and drew faces on them using black food coloring and white gel icing. I slid them about half way onto some floral wire and placed around the Dora and Boots figurine in the middle of the cake.
