My nephew's first game of the season was on Saturday; he's a Cub this year. It turned out to be a beautiful sunny day. I made these cupcakes for his team's snack for after their games.
I tried out the swirls in the cupcakes that I saw a few weeks ago. Just add a couple drops of food coloring to the batter in each cup and swirl with a toothpick. I made the toppers the night before and let them dry on a wire rack over night to hold their shape. To make the bats I swirled light brown and dark brown fondant together to mimic the grains in the wood. I used gel icing to decorated the toppers. Add a swirl of icing to the top of the cupcakes and top with your hand made toppers and aren't they cute?
